About Me:
Hello, my name is Shlok Gupta and I am a 10th grade student with a strong background in engineering, leadership, and public speaking. Over the past few years, I've been heavily involved in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), where I served as Team Captain and learned how to take a robot from a concept to a finished machine. Through this, I've become proficient in JavaScript, and I am experienced with 3D design and mechanical assembly using Onshape. My technical experience also extends to software development and health tech; I contributed to the creation of The Brown Heart app, a platform designed to provide culturally sensitive cardiovascular health resources for the Asian community. These technical skills have taught me how to solve complex problems and collaborate effectively with a team to hit pressure deadlines.
Beyond the technical side, I've focused on developing my communication and leadership skills. I've competed in Speech and Debate, Mock Trial, and FBLA, which helped me gain the confidence to speak in front of audiences of hundreds. I've also stepped into leadership roles, serving as a Regional Historian and as my chapter's President and Vice-President, where I managed large groups and coordinated major events. Outside of school, I stay active in the Cricket Academy of Pennsylvania as a competitive cricket player. These experience have given me a disciplined work ethic and the ability to lead a team toward a common goal, whether it's in a competition or a professional setting.
